Versatility is an essential component that any serious model must possess. The ability to adapt, evolve and ultimately personify an idea is key to making a name for oneself in the fashion industry. However what happens when you transcend this very definition?
Introducing Andrej Pejic, the latest sensation to push the limits of fashion and blur the line between the sexes. Born 1991 in Bosnia, Pejic is one year shy of his 21st birthday and has already hit major milestones in his budding career as a male model who models both men’s and women’s fashion.
His androgynous features have made him the ideal poster boy for fashion androgyny as well as being acknowledged as one of OUT Magazine’s 100 Most Compelling People of 2011.
When I first discovered Pejic, it was hard to not do a double take, he has a sense of natural beauty and a range of distinctive…

Just as I thought I was done ranting on my personal obsession.
I have actually had the pleasure of meeting Inacio Ribeiro and have had a few cashmere cardigans from different collections from the Clements Ribeiro line. It almost seems like this line is always perfection. And, from what I know and see time after time. This is an understatement. Truly. This line proves how sophisticated each piece can be. solo or thrown together for a fashion forward, or fashion behind look. I prefer the fashion behind Because it proves that Vintage prints and Designs can move forward to the now and create a genius appeal to the eye. I am loving this collection. Now, only if I could afford each piece. Any takers. Sugar Daddies??
Walter Van Beirendonck just showed and proved to me that suits can be a work of art. LOVING and LIVING for these!!Posted in ART, CELEBRITY, EVENT, FASHION, HAIR, ICON, PHOTO, STAR, STYLE, STYLIST with tags ANDROGYNY, art, CLOTHING, dress, GAGA, GAULTIER, HAUTE COUTURE, life, mystery, news, photograph, PHOTOGRAPHER, STYLIST on January 23, 2012 by jovan townsend
Ok. So. I have never been one to Coo over a mans suit. I find them restricting and most of the time without style due to the normal occasion in which you would need to wear one- and most of the time you give off flair with added accessories and pops of color. i;e socks, ties, bowties. etc.
In Walter Van Beirendoncks collections for the Fall 2012 menswear looks. He proved to me that not only does one have to fear the suit. But, they can also be art pieces, literally. If you can imagine one dying to get a painted dress by Zhandra Rhodes circa 1970-80’s. I am sure you can imagine the up and coming want for these suits in lets say 30 years from now, hell, even 5 years from now..
PURE GENIUS. I mean he did graduate from Antwerp with 2 of my Top Favorite designers- Dries Van n0ten and Ann Demeulemeester after all..
Let me give you a break down on my model favorites. 17 years ago was about 1994. I was 14 years old. I remember seeing this poster for CK one that featured a new model by the name of Kate Moss, which I still have by the way, She was this tiny thing with dark straggly hair. A black tank top with her arms kind of folded over her shoulder. I instantly fell in love. I remember spending my 30 dollar allowance a day on every single magazine cover Kate Moss graced and skipped lunch at school. My room was covered in Kate Moss photos, magazine cutouts. I was addicted.
That was until…
I was a religious watcher of the AMAZING show back in the day called Fashion Television that featured runway shows at midnight, and saw this insanely gorgeous model named MariaCarla Boscono work the runway like no other model. She literally scratched that catwalk with every ounce of fluid movement that could come out of her body. She quickly became my new favorite. She has this look of this alien like long stemmed girl with big eyes huge eyes and kewpie doll lips. She truly is the most gorgeous, insane walker to date. Sorry Naomi. Mrs. Boscono will cut you on the runway with her pinkie toe.
I guess what they say in fashion ” New Season, New Face” is true, or at least pretty close…
I am addicted to this new show, about one of the worlds most wanted models board through the Premier agency based out of London, called ” THE AGENCY”. They featured this break out model named India Farrell. that was so breathtaking it kind of took me back. She was kind of this little fairy girl with this very angled chiseled face with tiny lips and big eyes and freckles- which I love on a fair skinned model. On the show they depicted her as the possible new “IT” girl and if you take a look at the photos, even her comp card. You could quickly see why. But, she was the hard to get girl. She was the one all the Designers wanted. Mario Testino wanted to interview her personally. Thats a rarity. Usually it goes. Booking Agent. Management. Designer. Makeup. Hair. Wardrobe and then the photographer. That is huge for a new face in the agency. Its sad really that she has only worked for 1 year. may be once she gets a bit older she will realize her worth and the amount of money and prestige in the business. Who doesn’t want to walk a show and automatically get trades with the designer. Geeze. walk for 20 minutes and make 5- 15000 dollars for that time. Are you crazy. Geeze.
In any case. She is GORGEOUS.
AND. I LEAVE YOU WITH THE GENIUS VISUAL OF MariaCarla Boscono on the catwalk. Best walker of this century.
I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU. BUT, I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED KELLY WEARSTLER AND HER INCREDIBLE STYLE. HER KEEN EYE TO MAKE ONE ITEM INTO SOMETHING AMAZING. THIS IS HOW I LOOK AT KELLY WEARSTLER. I FIND HER SENSE OF FASHION TO BE MORE THAN AMAZING. I FIND IT FLAWLESS.
WELL. I LITERALLY LIVE DOWN THE STREET FROM HER NEW WEST HOLLYWOOD, MELROSE BOUTIQUE. SINCE SHE IS AN INTERIOR DESIGNER- THE STORE IS IMMACULATE, THE CURB APPEAL IS TO DIE FOR. THE WINDOW DISPLAYS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD.
BUT, WHAT DO I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT HER FASHION LINE?? YOU PROBABLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR THIS. IT SUCKS. THE STYLING SUCKS. THE COLORS ARE MUTE. I WOULD MAY BE WEAR ONE PIECE.??… THIS IS TRAGIC. IT TRULY IS. IF YOU HAD THE EYE OF KELLY AND HAD THE MONEY TO AFFORD THE BEST OF THE BEST STYLISTS TO CREATE HEAVENLY LOOKS AND HAVE THAT MONEY BACKUP TO AFFORD YOU A STYLE ADVISER, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT MAKING PARIS HILTONS LINE LOOK LIKE THE HOUSE OF GIVENCHY. THEN YOUR CLOTHING LINE WOULDN’T LOOK LIKE THIS.
P.S. SORRY KELLY. YOUR LINE SUCKS.
