My pale pink 50’s Samsonite luggage bows down to you.

Do you remember that ole diddy ” Its beginning to look a lot like christmas”? well. I am changing the words for 2013 resort to ” Its beginning to look a lot like Stepford”.   🙂

If this collection doesn’t embody everything 50 and 60’s  Jet Setter, shoot me fashion dead. It is starting to look like 2013 is going to be a Stepford wife fashion drove. I am not complaining. How could I?!   beyond chic. Peter Jensen Does it again for his resort 2013 collection.

MARNI RESORT 2013 COLLECTION IS A EXPLOSION OF NERD GORGEOUS.

Once again,  One of my favorite Collections from the Resort 2013 shows come from Marni.  Marni seems to embody everything I love in fashion. Drab colors blended with Sky blues and yellows with prints of a fly swatter net. Oranges suffocated in Burnt Sienna. Outrageous color blocking that only a forward girl can pull off. This is my favorite color family, the 50’s. Consuelo Castiglioni  definitely rocks at her own beat, and my head is bopping to and fro, up and down- hell. in circles if you will. I LOVE THIS COLLECTION. NOT ONE PIECE is counted out.

Do you have what it takes to pull off this pristine collection?

STANDING OVATION TWICE OVER. MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF FALL 2012 JUST DID IT FOR ME. IN LOVE

Why the standing ovation? Because, in a world of high glamour, The gothic, The preppy, The seduction, the “untouchable” fashion, The playing it safe for the majority of consumerism. Not, 25 minutes after posting ” I miss the kinderwhores of the 90’s” on my facebook wall. I stumble across Meadham Kirchhoff’s Autumn 2012 line. And, let me just say. It’s cheeky, Flashy, Fun, irresistible and contagious. Sure, you may not like the complete ensemble- But, It always comes down to separates in a fashion line anyhow. If you are into Japanese Harajuku, 90’s Betsey Johnson, 90’s club kids, 90’s candy kids- feast your eyes. If I hadn’t thrown away, by accident, a box of photos from my teenage years in the 90’s, you would know that my way of dress was just as out there as this as I would be able to show you- this was Jovan in the 90’s. I always said I brought Harajuku to Lewis and Clark High School. Brings me back. Oh the memories.

LADY VICTORIA HERVEY ROCKED THE OSCARS. GLITZ, GLAM AND BAM- PERFECTION.

If you want to talk about a true unique Lady, true to the word, taking the red carpet by storm. Then one should check out the one and only Lady Victoria Hervey-  Not only is she royalty, she is also a Red Carpet mistress that happens to be everywhere.  A lady with her own fashion devices, her own fashion happenings..  Lady Victoria does her own thing when it comes to Red Carpet styling. And guess what, It works. The 2012 Oscar season proved my point.  She opted to steer clear of the normal Red Carpet designer’s Lhuillier, Versace Couture, Armani Prive, Valentino and Zac Posen to name a few .. She went with 2 gowns that stunned and were both unique in their own right.

The first gown was by the insanely gorgeous BASIL SODA, if you are not aware of Basil Soda and his French Haute Couture designs- I would definitely check this line out, Its one of the hottest Tickets in town for Paris fashion week, and was worn to The Weinstein Company Pre Oscar Party at the insanely Exclusive Soho House- West Hollywood.   Hair by Celebrity stylist Jovan Townsend.

The Second gown which was worn to the infamously hard to get into Elton Johns Aids Benefit Oscar 2012 viewing party, was designed by another obscure choice, Irina Shabayeva, If you are not aware of Irina- check out Project Runways 6th season- this dress was a metallic Stunner!   Hair by Celebrity Stylist Jovan Townsend.

THE COST OF LOOKING AMAZING ON THE RED CARPET- JAW DROPPING.

I Litereally am going to copy and paste this from Style.com.  I did have an idea of what things cost and the cat fight for the “IT” dress of fashions season. I was talking about this with my client over the weekend. Our main question was how much do stylists make for a single job working awards season. Question answered.

read on.

The celebrity stylist wants to be seen as a mix of fashion consultant and best friend, but the job is really more hustler-broker, netting a red-carpet day rate of $1,500 to $10,000 for the ugly grunt work of wrangling, bullying, and pleading with designers to spare a gown or a clutch purse so that the client (or, more often, the film studio that’s paying) doesn’t have to buy it. Often the stylist has to donate, too. If a movie company won’t pay for the day rate, the celebrity probably won’t either, in which case she might ask a stylist to dress her in return for exposure. Stylist Phillip Bloch says that some of his top-tier clients never pay him. “Honestly, Salma [Hayek] never paid a dollar, I don’t think, in all the years I’ve worked for her,” says Bloch. “She and I were best friends.”

Perfection also sounds like – Spring 2012 Bouchra Jarrar Couture line!!!

Talk about a breath of fresh air. I wont get into my love for nerdy styles- Because I always do.. I just cant help it….

The Bouchra Jarrar Couture Spring 2012 line is everything I love in a Woman’s wardrobe. Muted pastels, Impeccable girlie 1950’s- 60’s prints, Clean lines, Exaggerated stoles. Its a perfect combination of the ever so fantastic Mix and Match.  And the disconnected necklines. Its funny really actually. Disconnected necklines, hems and seams. My sister told me that our mother wanted to sew my cardigans that I left at her house- and had to tell her that it was a look and not to sew them. This was following a conversation that I had to have with my sister about the current trend. Which is clearly shown on the Bouchra spring 2012 Couture line.

This does remind me.  Since, I always go back to the Nerd girl styles. I will create a post to my favorite love of all… NERD GIRL.  😉

TAKE A PEEK AND FALL IN LOVE. I WANT EVERY SINGLE PIECE FROM THIS LINE, ESPECIALLY THE FOX FUR BOAS. GORGEOUS!

Walter Van Beirendonck just showed and proved to me that suits can be a work of art. LOVING and LIVING for these!!

Ok. So. I have never been one to Coo over a mans suit. I find them restricting and most of the time without style due to the normal occasion in which you would need to wear one- and most of the time you give off flair with added accessories and pops of color. i;e socks, ties, bowties. etc.

In  Walter Van Beirendoncks collections for the Fall 2012 menswear looks. He proved to me that not only does one have to fear the suit. But, they can also be art pieces, literally. If you can imagine one dying to get a painted dress by Zhandra Rhodes circa 1970-80’s. I am sure you can imagine the up and coming want for these suits in lets say 30 years from now, hell, even 5 years from now..

PURE GENIUS. I mean he did graduate from Antwerp with 2 of my Top Favorite designers- Dries Van n0ten and Ann Demeulemeester after all..
