My first post after a lengthy break has to be the hype about the name change at the House of Yves Saint Lauent to Saint Laurent. I do not even know where to start with this. First off let me say that Hedi is perfect for Dior. Ok. Ok. That is off track. back to it..

Since the name change supposedly branded by Hedi Slimane has gotten a lot of backlash, I get it. People love to say Y, S AND END IT WITH L. Y S L. What many do not know is that the name SAINT LAURENT has already been branded by the house in the 70s and early early 80s. This line has already been. So. what is the issue. Hedi is merely giving the name a revival and giving the already branded Saint Laurent a rebirth.

SAINT LAURENT HAS ALREADY BEEN. LEAVE IT ALONE!

FACT IS IN THE BOOKS.

When I first heard of the collaboration between Kanye West and Guiseppe Zanotti, I automatically sprung out of my chair. Why? Although I am not a Kanye fan I do feel as though he could design shoes. I’ve seen the jewelry he has designed for himself and it has always been a bit off the wall.. Shoes.  I am pleasantly surprised that I do not hate them. I kind of love them!! Truly. Sure, they are expensive, a plush $ 5,000. But, hey. they are limited edition and they are also music royalty and are sure to bring thousands more in given time. What do you think?  yay or nay?

THE COST OF LOOKING AMAZING ON THE RED CARPET- JAW DROPPING.

I Litereally am going to copy and paste this from Style.com.  I did have an idea of what things cost and the cat fight for the “IT” dress of fashions season. I was talking about this with my client over the weekend. Our main question was how much do stylists make for a single job working awards season. Question answered.

read on.

The celebrity stylist wants to be seen as a mix of fashion consultant and best friend, but the job is really more hustler-broker, netting a red-carpet day rate of $1,500 to $10,000 for the ugly grunt work of wrangling, bullying, and pleading with designers to spare a gown or a clutch purse so that the client (or, more often, the film studio that’s paying) doesn’t have to buy it. Often the stylist has to donate, too. If a movie company won’t pay for the day rate, the celebrity probably won’t either, in which case she might ask a stylist to dress her in return for exposure. Stylist Phillip Bloch says that some of his top-tier clients never pay him. “Honestly, Salma [Hayek] never paid a dollar, I don’t think, in all the years I’ve worked for her,” says Bloch. “She and I were best friends.”

RICARDO TISCI BETTER GET IT TOGETHER. THE HOUSE OF GIVENCHY MEN HAS NEVER LOOKED SO, UM. BAD?!

I have always been a believer in the house that Is Givenchy since Ricardo Tisci took control in 2005. I have loved mostly every piece give or take. But, this Fall 2012 Mens Collection looks more like a Hot Topic Couture line if they had one.. hmm.. not a bad idea really. L-O-L. Than the typical Givenchy show stopper of a show. Ok. Ok. I may be just shocked that a few pieces made it down the runway that shouldn’t have. Like this printed shirt thing paired with a man skirt/ kilt- which I can get with. But, the shirt thing.. NOT ON THE RUNWAY!!! sorry. no can do…  Well. I really dont do print anything. But, what I do know, is that you should never have T-shirts stroll down that catwalk if it is not of a sheer content blazing with silver threading and beading.

And, yes. there are pieces that I love- Like the Russian inspired Jackets. The boots (want!). And, ummm.. well. thats it. sadly.

INDIA FARRELL: MOST WANTED MODEL. A DEFINITE “IT” GIRL. CATCH HER IF YOU CAN

Let me give you a break down on my model favorites. 17 years ago was about 1994. I was 14 years old. I remember seeing this poster for CK one that featured a new model by the name of Kate Moss, which I still have by the way, She was this tiny thing with dark straggly hair. A black tank top with her arms kind of folded over her shoulder. I instantly fell in love. I remember spending my 30 dollar allowance a day on every single magazine cover Kate Moss graced and skipped lunch at school. My room was covered in Kate Moss photos, magazine cutouts. I was addicted.

Kate Moss: 1994. technically photographed 1993.

That was until…

I was a religious watcher of the AMAZING show back in the day called Fashion Television that featured runway shows at midnight, and saw this insanely gorgeous model named MariaCarla Boscono work the runway like no other model. She literally scratched that catwalk with every ounce of fluid movement that could come out of her body. She quickly became my new favorite. She has this look of this alien like long stemmed girl with big eyes huge eyes and kewpie doll lips. She truly is the most gorgeous, insane walker to date. Sorry Naomi. Mrs. Boscono will cut you on the runway with her pinkie toe.

MariaCarla Boscono: for Mixte Magazine.

I guess what they say in fashion ” New Season, New Face”  is true, or at least pretty close…

I am addicted to this new show, about one of the worlds most wanted models board through the Premier agency based out of  London, called ” THE AGENCY”.  They featured this break out model named India Farrell. that was so breathtaking it kind of took me back. She was kind of this little fairy girl with this very angled chiseled face with tiny lips and big eyes and freckles- which I love on a fair skinned model. On the show they depicted her as the possible new “IT” girl and if you take a look at the photos, even her comp card. You could quickly see why. But, she was the hard to get girl. She was the one all the Designers wanted. Mario Testino wanted to interview her personally. Thats a rarity. Usually  it goes. Booking Agent. Management. Designer. Makeup. Hair. Wardrobe and then the photographer. That is huge for a new face in the agency. Its sad really that she has only worked for 1 year.  may be once she gets a bit older she will realize her worth and the amount of money and prestige in the business. Who doesn’t want to walk a show and automatically get trades with the designer. Geeze. walk for 20 minutes and make 5- 15000 dollars for that time. Are you crazy. Geeze.

In any case. She is GORGEOUS.

India Farrell: Comp card 2010

AND. I LEAVE YOU WITH THE GENIUS VISUAL OF MariaCarla Boscono on the catwalk. Best walker of this century.
